About a month ago, my car began to have trouble starting. I dropped it off last week to be checked. After 7 days, the fellow said he tested it, drove it, but couldn't find anything wrong with it. No charge, of course.
About 22 hours later, while trying to start the car in the parking lot of my bank, the accelerator cable broke. I had the car towed to a new mechanic.
"Don", the new mechanic, replaced the cable, went over the points, distributor innards, plugs, and it ended up needing a new ignition coil. The car still wasn't quite right when I picked it up, and he mentioned that it still needs carburetor work. It also needs work on the front brakes which are frozen, as well as the oil leak. I know it does need a bunch of attention.
For now, I have the car, hopefully, to get me through the weekend without being stuck in my apartment for another number of days. I plan on taking it back in on Monday for the $200 carburetor work.
So how's your retrograde Mercury period going?
It will go direct on November 1.

 After
hearing stories about Ann Coulter and her bizarre words about Jews, the
propaganda being 'catapulted' by the Bush admin. about Iran to soak the
minds of Americans exactly the way it was done before the attack on
Iraq, and the many security breaches by members of Bush's admin. for
political reasons only that have, in the long run, destroyed valuable
sources of intelligence regarding terrorists planning destruction, I
see the Enquirer tells us of a supposed affair by presidential
candidate, John Edwards.
I
like John Edwards, an attorney who is known for a lawsuit filed against
faulty swimming pool equipment which caused the death of a child. By
looking at his chart, I see he is definitely a fighter and a very
communicative person. He has a great gift of communication, popularity,
and charisma and he has used it for positive purposes, speaking up
against corporate greed. He is a champion for those living in poverty
in seeing poverty for the damaged foundation it is for numerous other
problems in society such as crime, drug use, and family breakdown.
With
Cancer on his Ascendant, he sees himself as a protector of his family.
He sees things in how they affect the family of humanity as well. That
family view is supported by humanitarian fighter, Uranus, as well as
Mercury, who speaks in his chart with emotion and feeling.
There
is a Moon/Jupiter conjunction which is something seen quite often in
the charts of popular people and politicians. It gives that charisma
and the benefit of 'the masses'.
He
is a very attractive guy and we don't need any chart to say it! That,
in itself, can be a blessing but it can cause problems with jealousy,
others not taking one seriously, and attracting the wrong types of
people. Don't we consider John Edwards to be the stereotypical male
progressive and the stereotypical male conservative to be someone like
... Dick Cheney?
I
don't see anything repeated in his chart about sneakiness or affairs.
Saturn in charge of his 7th house of partnerships speaks more of a
conscience concerned with marriage and family. Instead I see enemies
using arrogant and reckless actions behind the scenes like spreading
gossip (Sun and Mars in 12th house in Gemini).
Considering
the fact that a large percentage of spouses admit to having affairs,
nothing would surprise me. Men have a greater chance than women, but
women do admit to infidelity in larger numbers than in the past. There
are several challenging transiting and progressed planets (methods of
placing the planets position today around the birthchart to see how
they might affect the native) working against John Edwards and his
goals. It is a curiosity that this has erupted right after Mercury
going retrograde. Mars will be turning retrograde this fall, too, which
will involve an even greater story for society, in general. Remember
that Aries/Mars is the God of War. It will be interesting to watch this
play out. I still think, however, that Bush, Cheney, and their
supporters have done far more despiccable things than an affair or a
blow job and I wish Congress would stop any possibility for more dirty
deeds before the next inauguration. Some of the same architects of
Bush's administration and agenda are now aligned with the GOP
candidates such as Giuliani. That is, IMHO, something to really watch
out for.

Hermes - Salvador Dali
Mercury will again turn retrograde this Thursday night, 9 p.m. PDT, the night after the New Moon. The washing machine in my apartment building's laundry room 'died' after a series of groans and shrieks yesterday afternoon. My VW is going into the shop on Wednesday morning because it's running really rough. You'd think these machines have been reading an astrology magazine!
If you're not sure what this means, please go to the history of my posts and read through prior topics about Mercury retrograde and the time I moved while a retro was happening.
Be ready to review, re-schedule, and repair various projects, schedules, or communication and travel devices. Mercury goes direct again on November 1. This will be a good time to reflect and clarify things you may have been uneasy about. Be flexible!

 Moon - Venus ConjunctionI've been up very early lately because Venus has been rising before the Sun. She is exquisite. She appears outside my bedroom window and it's hard to turn away. If you're up early tomorrow morning, before the Sun rises, you'll see the Moon right there with Venus. They will be very close to each other, in the late degrees of the sign Leo. It's a very romantic sight and their conjunction is symbolic of deep affection. Halloween 2007 looks like it will be a memorable one! Definitely plan something fun!
Zeus/Jupiter
Jupiter will be 60 degrees from Neptune on the Monday the 29th. Planets 60 degrees apart are in a sextile aspect. Sextiles bring opportunity. It's a harmonious aspect.
Horses of Neptune
Neptune has been retrograde and will turn direct on Halloween. The qualities of vision, mysticism, disguise, and fantasy represented by Neptune will be in high focus because of it's apparent stationary (standing still) motion just before it turns direct.
Jupiter (sort of like Santa Claus) is one of the beneficial planets, the other being Venus. They bring good things to life, so to speak.
Since both move slowly, the influence will be felt by those sensitive to it for about a week, a few days before the 31st and a few days after. Mercury also turns direct after retrograde motion (which begins Oct. 11 at 9:00 p.m. PDT) on November 1. The stationary status of 2 planets will make the overall influences of that week very strong and in this case beneficial.
Those with the Mutable or adaptable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces strongly represented in their chart would feel these energies the most.
When most astrologers speak of 'a Gemini' they are usually referring to the sign on the Ascendant, because it's the point bringing the energies into the physical world. But one would be considered to have the sign Gemini strongly represented in their chart if their Sun or Moon or Ascendant is in Gemini, or if they have the planet Mercury very strong in their chart, or the third house has many planets inside of it, or a planet in the house aspects several strong planets in the whole chart. The only way to know about these markers is to have your chart calculated by someone who knows how, or at a website where it can be done. I recommend www.astro.com for free charts and a wealth of astrological information. Go to the 'Free Charts' page and select the 'Astro Click Portrait'. You can enter your birthdata to get a chart on screen. There are plenty of other free goodies there!
One caution would be to guard against overdoing it - whether it's alcohol or drugs, Jupiter's abundance combined with Neptune's escapist tendencies might be one way this influence could manifest.
Let your imagination run free. It will be great for spiritual or metaphysical works, too.
