Now that the Moon is in Sagittarius, it's time to cut loose.
Today, Saturday, should be good for getting a lot of things done. Be it work, shopping for gifts, or cleaning up the house, it will probably be easy to combine lots of physical energy with reaching a particular goal.
Next week, the heavens celebrate the holidays the way some of us do on Gaia. There may be slight annoyances from the unexpected, but overall next week will be a blast.
When the slow moving planet of Uranus aspects a strong planet in one's natal chart, it can be felt as an urge to make changes. Some people really feel an urge to move, change jobs, or get a new car or computer. If you're feeling this 'urge' these days, especially those born around Dec. 8, Mar. 8, Jun. 8, and Sept. 8, or those having the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Aquarius or Leo, be sure you do not simply jump into making a change for change's sake. You can end up landing and wondering where to go next. Plan what you're going to do once the change is made so you and your family are not left hanging. Be sure of the foundation and continuity.
Enjoy the weekend!

The Moon will be in Scorpio for the next 2 days. Venus has just moved into Scorpio, also. Feelings and emotions may be seem more raw or intense. We might want to protect our secrets now instead of sharing and making light of them with others. The New Moon in Sagittarius occurs this weekend, so the time is right to indulge in higher thought, religion, philosophy, or legal concepts. Travel is highlighted. Sports are a good bet for this weekend, those involved with horses and large animals especially.
Since Mars turned retrograde, I've noticed a big increase in crime and accidents. There have been quite a few bank hold-ups around here recently. I think people feel stressed about having money for gifts (and drugs) so they seem to resort to extremes more readily. Remember that retrograde brings unexpected expressions of the planetary energies and more of an inner display of the emanations. Some may feel more easily angered, which I have seen with a neighbor and her adult son who is considered to be a case of 'dual diagnosis'. I think he is bi-polar and uses drugs and alcohol to self-medicate. If he is on medication, he does OK, but he has been around looking very dark and moody, trying to get money from his mother. It gets scary because he yells and I've heard him talking to himself.
There has been a big increase in car accidents lately, too. There for the grace of God and Goddess go I, one roll-over happening just 2 blocks from home yesterday at a corner I passed several minutes before! With the sun setting at the same time that people drive home from work, I can understand how this happens so easily. I sure can't see too well with the sun in my eyes, and I try not to drive much around that time of day.
Mars continues it's backtracking until early next year. I will be curious to see what happens when it backs into aspects with George Bush's and Dick Cheney's respective natal Neptunes. Oddly, Neptune rules oil and the sea. George Bush has the sign Aries on his Midheaven. Aries is ruled by Mars. The Midheaven is the place in a chart representing careers and reputations - what one is known as. Let's see how this retrograde Mars treats his Midheaven. There has been a shift, definitely, with many in his own political camp attacking him for being either very uninformed, incompetent, or lying like the ol' rug. We see what the pride and arrogance of the fire signs Leo and Aries can do with Bush. Throw in Cancer's strong need for security, and this is what you might get. The role of a fortunate son and the lifelong granting of his wishes and demands certainly contributed it's part to his psychological motivations, too.

As Pluto moves through the later degrees of Sagittarius, my attention is drawn to the future implications of Pluto in Capricorn. I heard an interesting discussion today about the way consumerism has essentially shoved the family and closeness aside to tell everyone to get in there and shop! Sundays and holidays were spent with family in the past. It was tradition! Now the day after Thanksgiving has it's own name, "Black Friday", and it's own website. The first line of the first paragraph I read on the website reads, "Some Cyber Monday sales are starting on Sunday this year!". I'm not the only one to pledge to make all my gifts this
year because I hate to be told what to do by some advertisers and
corporations eager to take control of my cash and yours. And of course there were stores open all day Thursday, Thanksgiving Day! Enter the climate of corporate worship and control.Capricorn, Saturn, and 10th house are centered on the idea of working hard to get to the top. It can lead to the beauty of lasting relationships, art, and values. In a marriage it represents faith, loyalty, and a vow kept for a lifetime. At the other extreme, we have pure greed and covetousness. "I want it all. If she has it, then I have to have it, too. I want a bigger house than his." America reveals the Puritan work ethic clearly in it's commercial atmosphere. We Americans take very little vacation or holiday time compared to other countries. And the stress is getting to us. We take tons of pills to heal the sores we inherit by overwork.Who can forget the words from Bush, after 9/11 telling us to 'go shopping'. Rarely had I heard such a superficial remark from the president to Americans until then. And it certainly has continued in the last 7 years. To be honest, I think the corporations have ruled our pocketbooks since Reagan. Conspicuous consumption began with the White House china. Clinton ushered in NAFTA - globalism and free trade. As much as I'd love to see a woman as president, Mrs. Clinton is simply extending the corporate access to all things profitable. Pluto in Capricorn will see fanatic expression of corporate greed and the government wanting to just privatize everything from military (Blackwater, etc.) to media. There will be struggles as more people become informed and recognize what people like Rupert Murdoch, Bush, and financial interests have in mind. Capricorn is the sign opposite Cancer, which is the polarity and representative of the family and heritage of the zodiac. Notice how the family and patriotism are getting silenced and shoved aside? We will see more and more of this during Pluto's stay in Capricorn opposite the sign Cancer. Pluto is about raw power. Pluto is coercion, taking by force, and intimidation. It can instill fear to get what it wants. Organized crime, dictators, and hidden forces are under the rulership of Pluto. I believe Americans are becoming more aware each day and are fed up with things being forced down their throats. We are up to the job and feeling the power in our numbers.

The energy or emanations we receive during the full moon can be put toward spiritual growth. The Full Moon of the period that the Sun is in Sagittarius will help us focus on setting goals. The esoteric (leading toward soul growth) thought for the sign of Sagittarius is:I reach the goal and I see another. The continual striving for greater achievement, physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, is the Jupiter-Sagittarius-9th house essence. In addition to setting goals, there are certain behaviors we can work to control that will also help in our spiritual growth. During the Sun in Sagittarius Full Moon, those of any astrological sign can be aware of any tendency to gossip, talk about oneself too much, or to fall into a state of depression or inertia which halts effort on the path of soul growth. Once you catch yourself, work to overcome the negative behavior. Each sign of the zodiac has a focus for those on the esoteric path. I came across a book called "The Symphony of the Zodiac" by Torkam Saraydarian which is very readable and teaches many ideas and practices about esoteric astrology.

Thanksgiving was good! Except for the bit of over-imbibing by a couple of guests and the usual verbal sparring that can follow, things went well. Since I do not drink alcohol, you know that I did not over-consume except possibly the pumpkin cheesecake roll! Forrest Gump was on TV last night so we watched that to end a mellow day. My son has always told me to watch that movie and now I see why. This afternoon is a good time to take it easy, if you can. There is a Full Moon in Gemini (1 degree Gemini) upon us and it favors social contacts, word-play games, writing, and getting out on short journeys. Siblings and neighbors are highlighted, too. This might be a very good time to address those holiday cards and send them off. What do you think of that story about George Bush being involved in the outing of CIA agent Plame? Another tell-all book from a former White House press secretary Scott McClellan tells us what we already know. Is that treason? I think so. Will the bad guys be held responsible? Doubt it. More information will come out in the next few months regarding Bush's involvement in all things unsavory in Washington and Baghdad. There will be much ill will by and to members of this administration. Bush's chart is that of a "fortunate son". It's been easy for him. He didn't have to put forth any effort to get where he's wanted to go. I ponder on this often. It seems that he was "meant" to be where he is today although he's done a lot of harm. The brightest light creates the deepest shadows - meaning, maybe someone like him had to be in place to show just how vulnerable and fragile a democracy is. It has shown us what can go wrong with capitalism and greed. With the light of the world on his exploits and secrets, the depth of the darkness is breathtaking. Now it is time to decide if this is good enough to fight for and to go ahead and fix it.While sharing the Marx Brothers with my 12 year old via YouTube, I came across 'What's My Line' with Groucho Marx. Then we discovered Salvador Dali on 'What's My Line'! This is funny!
