George W. Bush was born during the month of July when the earth was moving through the water sign of Cancer. Cancer is the sign of the Crab; protected by the shell and a claw ready to reel you back in if you wander too far. Cancer is also associated with the Moon. Cancers "go through phases" or can be changeable, always moving. Remember George zipping around the room at the conference where he also provided a shoulder rub to one of the participants? Highly unusual for international protocol. I have the sign of Cancer in the part of my birth chart dealing with siblings, elementary schools, and local travel, among other things. Changeability was a good word to describe my early school experiences. I attended 5 different elementary schools. My car goes through it's phases, too, because it is an oldie. Signs of the same element, in this case - water, tend to be very compatible. Water is associated with feelings and emotions. They operate from a gut instinct. Laura Bush and Condi Rice are both Scorpios. Laura seems to have some air (like Libra) to smooth the sting. But Condi Rice has a text-book version of the wilting Scorpio stare. Daggers from those eyes, yes? Also, the fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius are said by some astrologers to often have a space between the middle teeth, as does Ms. Rice. One of my very close friends is a Scorpio native and she is the most loyal friend I have. Scorpio is not understood too well by many because of conflicting things written about the sign. The sign is associated with rebirth and resurrection. Sex, death, and taxes are commonly cited as the Scorpion's domain but it is a much deeper level than the superficial acknowledgment usually allowed for reasons of time or space. Back to the White House. George is having a problem with reality at this time. The planet associated with make-believe, illusion, and fog is wrestling with his partnership ideals. Other than that, he is probably feeling fairly strong and potent, knowing that it might be an unpopular role or decision he makes but it is "for our own good". If you haven't read the books written about the psychology of the man, you might want to. They are fascinating and certain characteristics of his birth chart are represented very well by the authors, who do not use astrology, to my knowledge. Some psychologists do. The fire sign of Aries is the first one of the twelve signs of the zodiac. It is in evidence every spring, beginning March 21 or 22, depending upon the year, as new life bursts upon the scene in our northern hemisphere. Aries' can usually be described as competitive, good at inspiring and launching new activities, moving ahead despite obstacles, and as having a need to be first. The chase can be more exciting than the catch. Their enthusiasm and passion can be contagious, too. The Warrior - expressed through Aries Although George W. Bush was born while the Sun was traveling through Cancer, in July, the sign Aries was straight up overoverhead the city of his birth at the time he was born, in the Midheaven. He wants to be seen as a warrior. (the war president). Bush's showy premature act of appearing to fly to an aircraft carrier in a jet, attired in the warrior's uniform, with a "Mission Accomplished" banner in attendance with the cheers of servicemen and servicewomen, was a perfect representation of an Aries moment. The role of the victorious "war president" is how he wants to be known and remembered by his peers, community, and society. He will very likely be remembered as such, but that may not necessarily be a good thing, as I'm sure you know. What other world leaders were/are commonly seen wearing a uniform of the warrior group of their country? The sign of Leo, another fire sign, was on the eastern horizon at the time of George W.'s birth. Each of the 12 signs rises or ascends (comes up) in a day of 24 hours; each sign being the Ascendant sign or Rising sign for a period of 2 hours. There are thirty degrees in each sign. It all works out to 360 degrees in a circle, in this case the circle of the zodiac. If someone wants to learn how astrology works, it helps to have a grasp of these things, but you can ignore it if you want to ignore it! The Rising sign can be described as the "filter" or "window" we see our world through. Leo is the sign of the king, royalty, privileged character, the ruler of the kingdom, the dictator, ordained by God. One can say that he was born into a situation reminiscent of royalty and privilege. He attended Yale, fell into the oil business, as his father had, and, was in a position of "the privileged" whose influence reached far enough to shield him in his time of rebellion and partying, when he was expected to be serving in the military like others of his age at that time in the country's history. It is interesting to see how often he employs the imagery and symbolism of a warrior or a king as he goes about the "presidency". Irony abounds in George W. Bush's life. Saudi kings at his side or military surrounding his desk as he signs legislation, as he plays his part in the drama. The fire element - the flame appears to defy gravity. Those born with strong fire sign influence in their birth chart, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, are resilient, enthusiastic, and spirited. "Let me stand next to your fire..." Jimi Hendrix

"Don't take my word for it. Take His word." Okay. I'll go to the Source. I want to read for myself exactly what the Bible says. It's been a long time. I was 13 years old when I was confirmed a Catholic. My mother then told me that if I didn't want to keep on going to church, I could stop. I did stop. In 1994, I went to the Unitarian Christmas Eve Candlelight ceremony, and I continued with their services for a while. Then they started getting political and asking for money. I lost interest. My brother and sisters were introduced to the Catholic church as children, as I was. My mother came from a family of devout Catholics; one of her brother's was a Jesuit priest and two of her sisters were nuns. Cousins were nuns, too. When I talk to my siblings about religion these days, comments might include, "A virgin having a baby? Be serious!", "It just didn't make any sense at all!", or "Look at all the wars and death caused by religion!" My dear mother hasn't been to church for some time because it's hard for her to get around at 87 years and she doesn't see much at all anymore. My mother-in-law, Japanese but converted to Catholicism upon moving to America with her Italian husband just after the Korean conflict, goes to church every once in a while, too. I found my little New Testament Psalms and Proverbs which was given to me as I drove down the junior high school driveway one afternoon. There were a couple of fellows with boxes, handing out the little books to anyone who wanted one. I've always loved the 23rd Psalm! And The Creative Source has made the power known to me throughout my life, especially since 1989. I ask for guidance and I receive help, so existence of Divinity is no question for me. Spirit exists. Spirit exists in my life, at least. I decided to begin my reacquaintance with the Bible through the topic of sin. I think I have a pretty good handle on sin. I found a free download to help live a life free of sin and it has given reading, study, and prayer verses to look at. I guess I must admit to a bit of envy here and a bit of coveting there. I can't help but wonder about temptation. Why is sex so much fun if it's so sinful? That's really setting humans up for a bit sting, I think. Flirting is fun. Dirty jokes are funny. Sex feels pretty frigging good for something we are only supposed to use for procreation. It could have been made much less fun to do, in my opinion, if it was to be so frowned upon. The same could go for gluttony and chocolate. While I attended Catholic church, I felt that girls and women were discriminated against by being required to wear a hat. That is why I eventually decided to quit going to church. Rules have changed now, as many things have for the Catholic church. The fact remains that I felt alienated and somewhat indignant by the teachings. Despite protests to the contrary by my Christian friends, I do find certain inconsistencies in the Bible. As far as astrology goes, it depends upon who you listen to. Certain writings sound like it is perfectly acceptable to learn to use the heavens as signs. Others sound as if it is a sure short cut to the deepest part of hell. So now I guess I have to just keep reading, as I intend to. One thing I've noticed over and over again is how widespread sin is in our modern society, especially among certain very vocal individuals of some major religions. Too bad. Makes everyone look bad. It leaves me wondering if human beings are generally capable of representing and teaching the ideals of religion or translating the word of God. It drives home the point that we are all "works in progress" and it is an ongoing struggle for the "best of us". Blessings, Lulublue | | Posted by Lulublue at 9:35 PM -

As you may know, I de-activated this blog for a while. I am honored to have received email from you wondering what what was going on. That was unexpected and I am deeply touched by your concern!

Recently, I have been increasingly troubled by humanity's cruelty to it's own. It disturbs me to tears when it concerns children and creatures with whom we share this wondrous earthly home. It weighs very heavy in my heart, my mind, and my soul. I have also become aware of someone who has shared my intense sensitivity and has found the way to live in this imperfect world - with a close connection to God and Jesus Christ. In answer to my correspondence about astrology and metaphysics, essentially asking what is wrong with the study of those topics, I was shown that it interfered with my applying study to God's word, among other things. At the very least, yes, it does. I have studied hours daily for decades and researched current events or other curiosities with great dedication to do no harm and to help others live their lives in a rewarding way. Had that time been devoted to learning God's word through study of the Bible, I would be an expert.
I honor and respect this person very much. My reaction to this dilemma, was to de-activated Astro-nicity. I am now going back to study God's word in the Bible, and indeed there is much beauty and wisdom in those texts. I am also aware of authors who have much more familiarity with Christianity and astrology than I do regarding what is said about astrology in the Bible, what is/can be meant by the statements, and if they can be compatible in the heart of an adherent without raising guilt in the conscience and doubt in the Self/self.
I am going to take some time to investigate these myself, because I've read others' writings without proper query.
So, that's where things are for me. I'm mainly trying to find answers to certain questions that trouble me. To some, it may make me look weak, hypocritical, or worse. I just have to be honest and faithful to this heart that dreams with me. I don't feel that astrology is harmful unless harm is intended. I would like to think (and somewhat do) that this mystical subject made fascinating by stardust can be used for the good of us all.
Feel free to leave any comments! Life is so interesting!!! I love these steps which bring profound desire to learn and "know". It is uncomfortable but it's like the polishing of the diamond, the endless grinding and grating will eventually reveal God's Light reflected through the magnificent product of time.
Thank you to my awesome B'stream friends! Blessings, Lulublue

Mercury turns back to go in his usual direction this week. It's a good thing, too. I've seen my vacuum stop biting the dust (how vacuums die) and my car is in the shop! I can't afford any more Mercury retrograde right now. lulublue | | Posted by Lulublue at 11:16 AM -
