Astro-Nicity by Lulublue

The Bible says that God created the sun to rule the day and the moon to rule the night. And it says the heavens and stars were made for signs, days, seasons, and years. To speak of something "ruling" can be interpreted as astrological reference. Each planet is said to "rule" over a certain sign, and each sign is said to "rule" over a particular group of events or physical subjects. The sign Pisces "rules" the feet, Sagittarius rules the thighs; Pisces also rules illusions, glamour, and movies. Sagittarius rules higher education. Each day of the week is ruled by one of the original seven planets (Sun and Moon are spoken of as planets, too.) when discussing astrology. Sunday - Sun, Monday - Moon, Tuesday - Tiu(Norse and Old English)/Mars, Wednesday - Woden/Mercury, Thursday - Thor/Jupiter, Friday - Freya/Venus, and Saturday - Saturn. I learned that Wednesday is Miercoles in Spanish in the 3rd grade. You can hear the connection of Miercoles to Mercury easier than Wednesday (Woden's Day). To clarify, Tiu, Woden, Thor, and Freya come from the Norse or Germanic ancient pantheon and correspond to Mars/Ares, Mercury/Hermes/Thoth, Jupiter/Zeus, and Venus/Aphrodite. Of course, a king rules his subjects. Ruling can be overseeing or taking charge of. I find things in the Bible that can be interpreted in different ways. Statistics can be used in the same way. One can infer a particular meaning depending on their purpose or agenda. The language of the Bible, written 1500 years ago, or around that time, is not too easy to know for certain unless your degree in linguistics, Hebrew, Latin, and Aramaic are hanging on your wall. Actually all sacred texts are similar. They have the creation story, the deluge, the virgin birth, and other parallel stories. A difference occurs most noticeably when religions are divided by their adherence to either the Resurrection and faith or Reincarnation and awareness. My intent is not to challenge anybody's belief and faith. I have only been trying to satisfy my own curiosity about the Bible (sacred texts) and astrology. What is meant by astrology is even subject to debate. What I consider it to be is knowing the position of celestial bodies on certain dates. This is science. After learning through experience and study the "rulerships" of each planet, handed down through thousands of years in certain civilizations, and synthesizing or blending, an astrologer can arrive at an accurate description of one's character, talents, abilities, and challenges. Because one astrologer uses psychic impressions and intuition in an interpretation does not mean all do. Some will draw more upon psychology. There are types of astrology that cover weather, the stock market, sports, politics, and esoteric matters, among others. As the saying goes, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Or I can say the more I know, the more I realize that I don't know and the more there is to learn. I am dedicated in my search and it makes my life fascinating. After what could have been a day with a steady flow of socially stimulating contacts, it's time to think about tomorrow. Sunday, April 1, April Fool's Day, is something my sons look forward to with a mischievous spark betraying their nonchalance about it all. People are out to make each of us look bad. They want us to look stupid - clueless! I hate to be on the receiving end of this. I have stopped contributing to the pandemonium. By covering up the bits of grey at my temples, I do my part. Tomorrow the planets Mercury and Uranus are meeting at the same degree in the sky, making an "aspect" (relationship) known as a conjunction. The prevailing astrological wisdom has been formed over a time of hundreds, if not thousands, of years. That wisdom would tell us that Mercury relates mainly to matters of communication, ideas, thoughts, and messages. Uranus signifies the unexpected. It can be an inventive inspiration that hits like a lightning bolt. The two planets meet in the twelfth sign of the zodiac, Pisces, a water sign. Piscean energy can be foggy, mystical, somewhat confusing, or idealistic. Pisces, under Neptune's rulership, also calls to mind alcohol, drugs, and oil. It can boil down to "unexpected message concerning water". In very simplistic terms, after several decades of study and observation to assign things to each planet or sign, all I do is blend the relevant data to get new meaning. With these fundamentals in mind, here's what we might look for as far as April Fool's stunts and news. Someone getting an unexpected message of a change of plans. The medication is hidden. A new medication is added to confuse someone. Look out for hidden cameras! Something added to food or drink. News of an airplane in or around the ocean, lost in fog. A weird astrological prediction (!?). A large animal breaks free from a circus and takes off. Unexpected news from the movie industry. I will be looking out for "tricks" involving water where it wouldn't ordinarily be! Tomorrow is also Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter. Palm Sunday is when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem. Upon learning his identity, the crowd greeted him by waving palm fronds (or branches) as well as setting palm fronds on the path of the donkey upon which Jesus was riding. Forgiveness - "Always forgive your enemies-nothing annoys them so much." Oscar Wilde Gratitude - "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." Melodie Beattie As I am writing this, I hear Vin Scully commenting on a baseball Freeway Series game between the L. A. Dodgers and the L. A. Angels. This usually makes me feel as though the sun is finally coming out again after a very long, very dark storm. This is something I look forward to every year but this year my joy is a bit restrained. I learned that my mother, 87 years of age, is in a rehabilitation facility because last week she had a third fall within the past year. I realize that her life will be coming to a close but it is very hard to imagine life without her. Pluto, despite being disqualified as a planet by some, is very strong in my chart and is right next to my moon in Leo. The moon corresponds to the nurturing love of my mother. Pluto usually signifies the ending of something. My Moon-Pluto pair are in my fourth house, which also corresponds to the nurturing mother. Recently, Pluto is moving through the part of the sky which is about 120 degrees from the place it was when I was born. When a planet, as it moves through the heavens right now is 0, 60, 90, 120, or 180 degrees to the exact place of a planet at the time of birth, it is forming an "aspect". It signifies a time when the "energies" of the two planets concerned can flow or "talk to" each other easily. They may agree or disagree about their respective concerns. The last big Pluto event I saw was when it moved right over the degree of my Sun, in my 7th house of marriage and partnerships. My marriage ended. I tried to keep it together as well as I could, for the sake of my children. However, the relationship was no longer working for either of us. It was an extremely difficult time for me. I realize more endings will be coming along and I will deal as best I can. My mom had to move about 3 hours away from where I live because she needed to be in an assisted living situation. Being legally blind, it was too dangerous for her to live in her own apartment alone. She is now living in her own "room" or small apartment within a retirement home. She may have to move to a safer place again. She can be a bit difficult to deal with, according to my siblings, but I never hear it on the phone with her. It's time to go for a visit. I pray that she will be comfortable. Today I was driving on part of a road which had been changed a bit 20 or so years ago and I had the urge to call my mom to ask her exactly where the old street ended in the late '50s, when we moved to this town. Then I wondered if she would even remember it accurately. Blessings, Lulublue | | Posted by Lulublue at 12:18 AM -

I realize everybody is done with this story. In my intended last words on the subject, Anna Nicole Smith died to this physical world because of an overdose of a few different prescribed medications. She was known to have said she wanted to be the next Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe also died of an overdose of prescribed medication. Another pretty blonde, actress Inger Stevens, died of something similar with alcohol thrown in the mix. Each woman died before the age of 40. Marilyn, above, and Inger, in image below... Marilyn Monroe was born while the sun was in the sign of Gemini, the polarity or opposite of Sagittarius. Inger Stevens was born in October, making her "a Libra" as far as sun-sign astrology goes. Whether intentional or accidental, an overdose of prescribed medication is still sad. I know about the need to numb pain, physical, emotional, or spiritual, with drugs. It is very prevalent in American society. Though living the kind of life some dream of, these ladies have shown us that it does not always lead to happiness. Fame, celebrity, riches, and adulation cause as many problems as the perceived benefits they bring along. For the Sagittarian, the desire to expand, to go farther, higher, faster, or greater, leaves little room for contentment and simplicity. It takes some Sagittarians a dedicated effort to just relax and "do nothing". Fortunately, meditation, prayer, and other relaxation methods are available for the "high performance" type of person. I tend to think these deaths were not intentional (without addressing any conspiracy theories connected with Miss Monroe's death) but were caused by a continued search for the one thing that would silence that little voice of un-easiness or discontent deep inside. One loses count of the number of pills already taken; it happens easily with some medications. I would hope that the world is ready to accept that certain addictions are caused by chemical imbalance. I also hope the answer is found which will enable people to experience relief from their suffering, whatever it may be, yet live long enough to see their hopes and dreams finally achieved. | | Posted by Lulublue at 12:49 AM -

Perhaps if we clean up the graffiti, stop dumping aquarium gravel down the drain, and stop throwing lemons and firecrackers at the neighbors, we'll get another chance...Thank you to Sean Bonniwell for allowing me to share the God Grams in my Blogstream gallery! Lulublue
