USA Charts and Presidents of the Past

While taking time to go over charts relating to November's election, I found lots of great information about the USA and the charts of past presidents.

America's birth chart is not as easy to pinpoint as you'd think it might be. In my understanding, the Declaration of Independence was signed in the late afternoon of July 4 when Caesar Rodney finally arrived to vote to approve the content of the document. Other accounts give the date of the 1st (or 2nd) of July as far as the beginning of the vote. Differing stories of Rodney's whereabouts further confuse the issue. One states that he was with a female 'friend' who was keeping his mail from him regarding his presence being necessary in Philadelphia because she wanted him to remain with her for a longer time. One tale gives his condition as grave with cancer of the throat or neck which made a difficult day-long ride, though he did approve the Declaration of Independence. The New York delegates did not complete their vote to approve the document until several days later. The birth time of 5:10 pm seems right to me, however. I'm going to continue research on this issue, though.

Another interesting site gives certain indicators of the past presidents of the country. A great number of our presidents have had the planet Mars (aggression, courage) in the sign of Leo (rulership, royalty). Hillary Clinton was born when Mars was in the sign of Leo. Barack Obama was born with Mars in Virgo, but he has the Sun, Mercury, and Venus in Leo. John McCain was also born when Mars was in Leo. More presidents have had the Sun in Scorpio and Aquarius, the least with Sun in Aries, Gemini, and Virgo.  John McCain was born with Sun in Virgo, Hillary Clinton has Sun in Scorpio.

Each of the three main candidates we see today, Obama, Clinton, and McCain, have themes in their charts that point to powerful leaders and the United States. This is a fascinating year regarding astrology and presidential politics!

 Twenty-seventh Degree

I've been running off charts of the candidates - natal, progressed, transits, solar returns, as well as charts for election day, the Republican Party and the Democratic Party, and the United States' chart (although there are several that astrologers cannot quite agree upon for the US, typical for independent astrologer types who all hear a different drummer).

After looking at the charts a few times certain things stand out. The degree of 27 stands out among many of these charts. I mean 27 degrees of any sign, too, not just a certain sign. So I'm looking at 27 degrees containing any planet or the Ascendant, Midheaven, or being on the cusp of any house in these charts. I am giving a very tight orb of influence at this point, only taking in 26 or 28 if not 27 exactly.

That degree seems prominent in many of these charts - it is highlighted, usually, twice, in any of the group of charts on an average. I personally have 2 planets in my own natal chart which would qualify for listing in this group.

When I look at Barack Obama's progressed chart for election day, there are 6 different planets in and around that 27th degree. I'm going to do more research and pondering on these charts, of course. But, this seems to indicate a big day, in some way, for him.

 Charts of Presidential Candidates

When looking at the circle of an astrological chart, put the earth and yourself (use your imagination) in that little circle in the middle. We would be at the top of that little circle. In Barack Obama's chart, below, the Moon, Venus, Mercury, the Sun, Uranus, Pluto, Mars, and Neptune were above the horizon at the time of birth, appearing in counterclockwise order. The Moon is about to set, then Venus, Mercury, and the Sun will set, then the rest of those traveling through the sky in the clockwise motion.

Now let's imagine what is underneath the horizon. It's dark because the sun is overhead, right? If he were born at midnight, the Sun would be straight down underneath the earth. B. Obama's Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is there, in the 3rd house, with Jupiter in the sign of Aquarius and Saturn is in Capricorn, the sign of it's rulership. Any planet is strong in the sign of it's rulership as long as there are no counter-acting placements or aspects to weaken or overdo the planet's expression.

Over on the left side is the Ascendant or Rising Degree. See the letters AC? You might be familiar with the glyph for Scorpio which looks like an "M" with an arrow-like 'tail'. The planet Neptune, whose glyph looks like Poseidon's trident, is rising in the 12th house.

These are some very strong planets in Obama's chart, especially in the Midheaven, straight overhead. The Sun is in it's own sign, Leo. Pluto tends to show up prominently in the charts of rulers or others who are influential in the lives of others, or at least wish they were. The Leo expression gives the calm and poise Obama is known for. Uranus and Mars are also often placed in the Midheaven or Ascendant in the charts of rulers, presidents, dictators, and leaders.

Below you can see Hillary Clinton's chart with only Luna in the Midheaven (assuming the birthtime is correct for this chart). Uranus is on the Ascendant and Mars, Saturn, and Pluto are in a conjunction in Leo in the 2nd and 3rd houses. There is a stellium or group of planets in the sign of Scorpio in Clinton's 5th house.

Notice the themes in the charts of Obama and Clinton? Leo and Scorpio, Sun and Pluto.

Below we have John McCain's chart. The planets of Mars and Pluto were overhead in the 10th house, close to the Midheaven. The Sun is in Virgo with Neptune. Jupiter is in the 2nd house in it's sign of rulership of Sagittarius giving a boost to Mars next to Pluto in the 10th. It's those fire planets again, as well as Pluto, ruler of Scorpio.

All 3 of these candidates have a potential temper. The fire planets and Pluto, who is so comfortable in a position of power even if it has to hide underground to wield it, give that tendency. Typically, these kinds of people will express their anger pretty easily and then the anger will subside. No hard feelings. Those who do not express or deny that anger or temper can only keep it in check for so long before it blows when some little thing makes them lose control, or the anger will settle in toxin layers in the body causing ulcers, high blood pressure, and other health problems related to stress.

These charts make for strong leadership potential. We can observe from the sidelines to see how they've all learned to focus aggression and passion in their lives. I've seen some rudeness come out in various interviews, which would be an expression of anger.

These charts are so interesting, with so much potential for good or otherwise, and this is only scratching a tiny bit of the surface. When getting to the 'truth' in a chart, you consider each planet, certain points of strength or weakness, positions of fixed stars, midpoints between 2 planets, the planet or star's sign and house as well as relationships (aspects) to other stars and planets, and there are many different techniques for advancing the birth chart for future trends or forecasting. I hope this put the idea of Sun-sign astrology in it's proper very, very weak light for you. There are endless possibilities in the way planets and points interact. No 2 are the same. Twins are a special matter, of course. What about time twins? Two people of different environmental and heritage influences born at the same time and place (in a hospital or wherever). Those make some interesting stories!

Astrologers have had to deal with reactions to their statements about people's character or things to come since the time of Abraham.  Some had been accused of being in a conspiracy when they cautioned that some public figure may be in danger.  I think most would just offer the insight into these tendencies or trends in an effort to help.  There are just those kinds of indicators in one/some of the candidates charts.  I won't use names because I am not trying to 'go tabloid' here, and it does not advance the art and science of astrology in the way it needs to be treated to make spectacular predictions.  It's not about making predictions though some have and continue to do so.  It shows tendencies or trends.  There are choices as to how to handle, or ignore, the possibility.

Suffice it to say that I hope all the candidates and their family members campaigning with and for them are not scrimping on security.  Security is essential in these campaigns.  There is much intensity with the excitement these candidates produce.  The potential for trauma exists.  I truly feel that maintaining the strongest security possible and using common sense about personal safety should be strictly adhered to.  I am not trying to induce fear and I hope that is not the result.  We've learned these lessons in the past.  Personal safety and security are crucial for the candidates, family members, and others in their vicinity.

Let's pray for goodness, power, and Light.
