 How Do You Virgo?

As long as I've studied and used astrology, I've had thoughts of, "How is this useful for me?" It is fascinating to learn the secrets of weather
prediction, finding lost objects, or forecasting, but if it can't truly be used every day to improve our life and it's quality, what's the use?

One way that contributes to your consciousness and soul growth is to use each signs' symbolic ideals throughout the year. For example, we have just entered into the time that the Sun goes through the sign of Virgo. Virgo is one of the mutable signs in addition to Gemini, Sagittarius, and Pisces. These signs are adaptable and flexible. It is not surprising they fall when changes of season are apparent. Virgo signals the change of summer to fall and the harvest. In addition to corn and wheat, traditional Virgo symbols, we can harvest lessons of experience.

In my case, I find that I have 'harvested' the experience of a fire. When I realized that these areas were blazing away, I began searching the internet for images. I stumbled upon a few hiking sites which included hiking trailheads, paths, as well as beautiful photos. As one who always considered Motel 6 'roughing it', I did not do much hiking back there in the forest. Now I regret it. I now have a greater respect for what is right under my nose, and if it wasn't almost lost through the fire, I still might be unappreciative of the majestic, tranquil beauty of lands 20 minutes away! You can bet that I will be venturing out into the hills to the best of my ability even with the aches and pains I have as an old lady in her 50s.

If you want to use the cosmic tide to help guide you down your Stream, think about what you are bringing with you from the summer. What are you harvesting? Are you going to assimilate the bounty? How?

Virgo represents skill and precision in service to humanity. Leo roared out the commands and Virgo sees no reason to do anything other than carry them out to completion. It is her humble gift to the rest of us, to be efficient and useful.
It is also a good time to start school, obviously, and to set out to sharpen your own skills or learn new ones. It is toward increasing your usefulness.

As the sign associated with health, this makes a fine time to commit to a healthful exercise routine or focus on the quality of your nutrition. Get annual check-ups out of the way now.

Happy harvesting!

 Virgo's Heaven 2007

Today, August 23, the Sun appears to enter the 30 degrees of the celestial realm we call "Virgo". I say appears because all these things appear to happen from our perspective here on Lovely Earth.

This could be a very productive few days for us. It might be easier to prioritize and get down to what really counts

Happy Roarin' Birthday to Annie Oakley

Annie Oakley

Born August 13, 1860

This little lady sure seemed to embody Leo's showmanship, magnetism, and ability to make it through some very tough challenges.

The photo above gives a good view of the proud and noble Leo carriage.  There is a 'lion's mane' of curls, and a slight 'kitty-cat' curve to the upper lip.  People look like their dogs, and usually display some characteristic of their sun, moon, or more commonly their ascendant (or rising) sign.

Now, ladies, didn't you dress as a 'cowgirl' at least once for Halloween?  Didn't at least one person refer to you as Annie or 'Little Sure Shot' while you were in that costume?  Either way, this woman rates first in the small group of tough ladies who made their name known in the Old West, commanding the admiration of the city dwellers and the respect of the men they competed with in that life or death game of the gunslinger.

 Astrology Lessons In The News

There is recent news regarding the loss of 190,000 AK-47s in Iraq.  This is not the first report of weapons disappearing in Iraq while US forces are trying to train the country's police and military security forces.  The knowledge of this disappearance occurs days after the exact square (90 degrees apart in the heavens) of Mars (guns, weapons) in Taurus (possessions, resources) and Neptune (deception, dissolve, disappearance) in Aquarius (detachment, shocks, rebel).

Another sad news item from Colorado, a pit bull attacked a doberman at a dog park.  The dogs were pulled apart, but after the second attack by the pit bull, the owners could not get the two out of control canines away from each other.  The owner of the doberman took a knife from his pocket and stabbed the pit bull.  The pit bull later died from the injuries.  This power struggle took place July 30, the day of the Full Moon in Aquarius (unexpected, shock).

Experience tells us that more births take place on a full moon, emergency rooms are busy, and passions lead to unstable behavior which translates to more arrests.  Patients in mental hospitals are known to be agitated around the full moon, too.
