 Jumpin' Gemini

The moon is going through Gemini today. Gemini brings curiosity, easy communication, and ability to keep volumes of minute details at ready access. Mercury "rules" Gemini. If Mercury's in good shape, things should be doing well. This morning Saturn opposed Mercury in the skies. So you have Mercury up there in the sign Aquarius with Saturn in Leo down there 180 degrees away. There is a stand-off. Saturn tends to crystallize, limit, set boundaries, and make you follow the rules. If you don't follow the rules and Saturn snags you, he'll send you back to take the class over again. He will make sure you learn so you can grow and evolve. It's not always a negative thing. I like Saturn, as you can tell.

So, Saturn had the talk with Mercury this morning around 10 am PST. Each shared their appreciation of the other as well as the problem, I hope. They came to understand the other's point of view and are working it out. What might have happened around the same time? Newspaper doesn't come, car breaks down, plans stall, things freeze up (winter doesn't help), constipation (!?), false teeth fall out, it would all depend on where in one's life Mercury and Saturn make themselves known.

The planets are like the flour in a cake flowing from heaven. The flour is combined with eggs, vanilla, and sugar and any other flavorings to bake the item. The blending part is like the sign the planet is in. Finally, the cupcakes are done, you've got them on a plate and, now, where will you eat them? Will you go sit in the back yard or eat standing by the sink? Eat in the car on the way to work or hide in the bathroom so no one sees you? The flour goes through it's alchemical synthesis with other ingredients and ends up where? That is one idea I use to think of how this works. The planet is the energy or vibration or principle. The sign is how that energy is used or focused. The houses of the chart correspond to where the influence of that "flavored" energy is felt, visible or invisible.

There are many choices in the above scenario. Are you mixing the ingredients by hand with grandma's utensils or fancy electric mixer? What are the bowls like? What plates are you using? Paper plates or china or crystal or a folded up napkin? I do not think of astrology as something we consult to see what the future will be like. It is more of a tool to see what trends will be influencing circumstances or mind sets. And when. But you still get to make choices to learn, fight, ignore, or over-react.

Anyway, I figured out that the links to my favorite sites were not working (sorry!) and they are now working. Please try again! Saturn asked me to do them again so they made sense! I did. Be well! lulu

 ^I^ ^I^ ^I^The Angel Memo^I^ from Augustine ^i^ ^i^ ^i^

Angels are spirits, but it is not because they are spirits that they are angels. They become angels when they are sent. For the name angel refers to their office, not their nature. You ask the name of this nature, it is spirit; you ask its office, it is that of an Angel, which is a messenger."

What the World Needs Now is More ...Bonniwell Music Machine

"The only reason for time, is so that everything doesn't happen at once." - Albert Einstein

Synchronicity refers to things happening unexpectedly and at the same time although seemingly unrelated or by coincidence. I find that these things have a "destined" quality, seem to happen for the better, and can sometimes be timed with astrological significators or symbolism. Ancient wisdom tells us "As Above, So Below". What is happening "out there" on a grand scale is also happening "down here" on a small or tiny scale.

Something very interesting happened while I was working on '100 Interesting Things' for my profile and listening to Little Steven's Underground Garage on the radio. If you like garage punk and rock, old or new, check it out! A phenomenal song called "Talk Talk" by the Music Machine started to play, bringing some very fond memories to mind.

In the springtime of 1967 a friend, Nina, and I were "working" as go-go dancers (WITH clothes on!) at Longshoreman's Hall in San Francisco. Nina went to Stanley Junior High and I was in Fairview Junior High. Each of us had the "title" of best girl dancer in her school. Someone told me that 2 dancers were wanted for Saturday nights at Longshoreman's and suggested I go with Nina to try out. We did and we were chosen over a couple of older dancers who were very good but looked to be more Motown-style than hippie-style. They wanted some young hippie types, bells but no flowers....

At about that time, groups like Music Machine, ? and the Mysterians, and the Seeds were hot with an edge-y garage band sound. Remember Psychotic Reaction by Count 5? The Doors "Light My Fire" and Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heartsclub Band" had come out recently. Talk Talk by Music Machine had been released in late '66 and went up high in the charts - it was and still is one awesome song.

Exciting things were happening then. Hippies started to descend on the Haight-Ashbury District. Golden Gate Park was the place for Love-Ins. The Fillmore, Avalon, and Winterland were beginning to put on rock concerts with light shows (psychedelic times), and the Monterey Pop Festival was a huge event. Life was one big party for me and it was a blast! Count 5 and Music Machine were two of the bands that appeared at Longshoreman's Hall around that time and though I don't remember exact details, Nina and I were there dancing.

Back to 2007: After Talk Talk ended on the radio, a voice said something like "this is Sean Bonniwell of Music Machine and you're listening to Underground Garage". It was nice to know that someone was still around from the '60s who made a great contribution to those times and rock music in general! Far too many legends were not around any longer, as you know. I was curious and brought up Google to help me out. There were tons of links!

It seems that Sean B. is well and living in California. He's been through some serious stuff and has written about much of it in his book, "Beyond The Garage". I bought the book and some CD's from him so I can hear Talk Talk again, as well as a huge amount of other fine music he has written. The book is very honest and he makes life's dramas sound almost funny. (If you've been through it all, the absurdity of it leads you to a place of humor.) Sean is now a Christian (possibly why he's still among us) and has recorded Christian music. He also gives readers a glimpse of the music industry.

Go to my favorite sites links over there to the right. Click on Bonniwell Music Machine. Awesome stuff to hear, read, and remember awaits you.

Blessings, gogolulu

 Impatient Aries Moon

As I write, the moon is going through the sign of Aries. This can signal a day or two of feeling energetic and impatient. If someone's natal chart (birth chart) has a strong Mars, Aries, or First House influence, they tend to feel it.

I have things to write but as soon as I sit down at the computer, my son comes to show me how his ZipZap monster truck does spins while standing up on it's front bumper. And my other son is practicing his metal guitar techniques. He's playing "Dream On" by Aerosmith. ZipZaps are little remote control cars. I have pictures of them in my Gallery. Leo and Taurus. They fight over food - no matter how much there is. Neither one gives in. Taurus is now telling me how he needs to buy a new Special Edition car. He is super acquisitive. Last night he asked Leo to close a silver Nintendo DS box which was very full. Leo definitely closed it - he broke it unintentionally. Leo (who has an Aries Ascendant) moves with the force of a locomotive. Opening a door, pouring cereal into a bowl, doing homework, whatever. He's super into-the-moment; with force upon motion. Energy in motion. Of course the thing is broken! Don't ask him to do things like that!

Taurus is slower. And very magnetic. Often you might read that Scorpios and/or Taurus-types are magnetic. After living with this one, I know what that means. Ya' want to hang onto him like a steady boulder alongside a strong, fast river that wants to carry you away. When he was 1 or so, he was sleeping in his stroller outside of his brother's classroom. One kindergartner came to ask me, "Can I touch him?" He does inspire that - but most sleeping toddlers do (at least to me). Then several older girls took over watching over him when I worked on the playground. The two twins got into a fight (hair pulling and throat grabbing) over who would get to watch him. I had my back to them when their friend said to me in a very understated way, "I think we have a fight here." I thought she meant Taurus and another younger one. I turned to see the two 7th graders, identical, ripping into each other. Everything turned out OK.

Who are those three people in that picture? The guy is my ex-H., the blonde with the shih-tzu (sp?) is my friend, and me. That was on the day of the Summer Solstice parade and Boozie (the dog) was needed at the Lobero Theatre a block or so away. During a musical number, a performer came backstage, grabbed Boozie, went back onstage. The song made a reference to a dog. Here's to reality. Then we took Boozie and went back to see the parade and to watching the other parades along the sidewalk!
With UCSB and Santa Barbara City College nearby, as well as Westmont College (Christian), and any tourists who have strayed in, the Solstice Parade draws around 12,000 people downtown. The Fiesta (Old Spanish Days) Parade draws more than that!

Next time, I'll write about Mercury going retrograde. Be well! lulu

 What's a Rising Sign?

A Rising or Rising Sign or Ascendant is the sign and degree of the zodiac on the eastern horizon at the time and place of birth or event. The zodiac is akin to a humongous belt or 360 background against which earth inhabitants (you and me) view other parts of our solar system. Let's see, 360 degrees and 24 hours per day - the degree changes every 4 minutes. If you want to be very exact, you can view it in terms of degree, minute, and second, as astronomers and astrologers like to see it.

The Ascendant signifies physical appearance, early life, and perspective of life (as viewer and viewee). You can obtain your Ascendant by having someone who knows what they're doing draw up a chart using your exact time and place of birth. The result is a "natal chart" or nativity.

If you'd like to check it out, go to "http://www.astro.com" and look around. You can discover alot there. Some of the planet's top astrologers contribute their expertise to that site and there's something for beginners as well as experts.

Astrology is access to your Soul's to-do-list for this lifetime. Or your cosmic score sheet whereupon the Divine Scorekeeper and Assistants remind you of your homers, runs scored, as well as errors. Once aware of this, one can eliminate a huge amount of the pain and energy it takes to swim "against the stream". Things are defined and clarified. You can see where you need/want to go. You can plan the steps to get there. What it did for me, for which I'm so thankful, was reveal that my dad's plan of my working in a bank or insurance company really would have made me miserable. My passion is astrology. Life's mysteries intrigue me. Bless our parents or others who try to steer us along the way they have chosen for us, but we know what it's like when that doesn't jive with our own heartbeat. Blessings to you! lulublue

And later, about those images of stone tablets in my gallery, Enuma Anu Enlil....
